Athletics
The Howard School offers a variety of after school and special programs for students of all ages.
The Howard School has maintained an excellent interscholastic competitive athletic program for many years. Thanks to dedicated and talented coaches, committed and enthusiastic athletes, and supportive and encouraging parents, we continue a fine athletic tradition that enhances our school. Students who are eleven years old or older at the beginning of each sports season are eligible to play on our teams. We hold informational evenings at the start of each season as a way to both inform students and parents about the sports offerings, and to introduce and organize the teams. The school works closely with the Parents Association Athletics Booster Committee.
Athletic teams at Howard have a no-cut policy and emphasize sportsmanship and team play. We are pleased that our reputation in the community and with other schools we play centers around those principles. We offer a number of individual and team sports. In the fall, we have volleyball, soccer, and cross county at the varsity and middle school levels. In the winter, we offer varsity, junior varsity, and middle school boys and girls basketball. In the spring, we offer varsity golf and varsity and middle school track and field. At the varsity level, The Howard School joins with other area small schools as part of the Atlanta Athletic Conference (AAC). (See below for the Athletics forms.)
